Wilson Castro studied Microbiology at the University of Antioquia and performed his Master's thesis project at Harvad Medical School. From 2012 to 2017, he carried out his PhD work on NK cell-mediated immunity at the Department of Biochemistry of the University of Lausanne. In 2018, he joined the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, Lausanne. He has expertise in Project/Team Management, in vivo mouse models for immuno-oncology, infectious and inflammation diseases. At the Ludwig, he leverages partnerships and collaborations within and outside the institute, and he is committed to mentoring students and research fellows in research methodology. For his scientific contributions, he was awarded the Pfizer Research Prize 2019.
