Improving quality in TURB surgery: Transurethral Resection and Single instillation intravesical chemotherapy evaluation in non-muscle invasive bladder cancer treatment

Non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) has a high risk of recurrence.
The international guidelines include clear and easily measurable recommendations related to transurethral resection of bladder tumour (TURBT) and single instillation chemotherapy use, based on best available evidence. Despite this, there is evidence that practice varies widely and this may affect oncological outcomes.
More efforts have to be made to achieve "good quality" NMIBC surgery, improve accuracy of diagnosis and reduce recurrence rates.
The aim of the study is to determinate which factors impact variation in achievement of TURBT quality indicators and single instillation intravesical chemotherapy use and how this affects early recurrence rate.
This a prospective study, starting on February 2021.
