Health disparities, measures to promote equity of care for populations more specifically in vulnerable situations
Our research targets different populations in vulnerable situations, their specific needs; some focus on the health system. All aim at equitable care for all patients. They are both observational and interventional studies, qualitative and/or quantitative. Actually, the research axes on which we are working within the Department are the following:
1.Deaf and hard of hearing patients, and implementation of teaching of care at the cantonal level (CPSLA funding)
2. Impact of teaching transcultural clinical skills: this teaching, given at both the pre- and post-graduate levels, allows for pre-post studies of the "Medical Education" type
3. Patient health literacy: this theme has generated several master's studies in different settings; we are at the stage of observational studies to implement a certain number of interventions. We are part of a francophone health literacy network
4. Specific needs of sex workers: based on a number of observations, we are currently trying to adapt our care for this at-risk population (REFLIS)
