This conference is organized in collaboration with colleagues from the University of Geneva (Martin Leer, MER in Contemporary Literature, and Michael Röösli, Assistant in Modern English) and is funded by CUSO. Taking place on June 6-8. it will focus on the widespread use of film and other visual media by scholars and teachers of English and American literature.

Writing American Women: Text, Gender, Performance
This conference, which took place in November of 2008, was organized in conjunction with the professors of American at the universities of Fribourg and Neuchâtel. Doubly sponsored by the CUSO and the Swiss Association for North American Studies, this conference focused on all aspects of how American women write and have been written about.

Crossing the Americas
An interdisciplinary and inter-university project for October 2009 which will combine MA seminars offered in the Spanish department at the University of Geneva and in the English section at the University of Lausanne with a 4-day international conference on Pan-American cultural contact and exchange.
