An interdisciplinary conference which took place on December 6, 2007, at the University of Lausanne. Invited speakers included Columbia professor Bruce Robbins and UCLan professor Will Kaufman, who performed songs by Woodie Guthrie.

This conference is organized in collaboration with colleagues from the University of Geneva and is funded by CUSO. Taking place on June 6-8. it will focus on the widespread use of film and other visual media by scholars and teachers of English and American literature.

This conference, which will take place in November of 2008, is being organized in conjunction with the professors of American at the universities of Fribourg and Neuchâtel. Doubly sponsored by the CUSO and the Swiss Association for North American Studies, this conference will focus on all aspects of how American women write and have been written about.
