Les problèmes environnementaux et le réchauffement climatique sont des enjeux majeurs pour la santé humaine actuelle et à venir.[1] En ce sens, cela questionne nos pratiques et l'exercice de la médecine. Nous étudions l'abord de ces problèmes non seulement en pratique clinique en médecine générale, mais également dans la perspective du système de santé. Parmi les questions que nous explorons, nous étudions le lien entre réchauffement climatique et santé, et comment l'aborder en clinique avec les patients. Nous explorons également les domaines et les interventions (alimentation, mobilité,...) que nous pouvons développer afin de diminuer les émissions de CO2. Dans ce cadre, il s'agit de développer de l'information adaptée pour les patients (et les soignants). Il s'agit également d'étudier comment mieux concevoir des structures de soins respectueuses de l'environnement (écoconception). L'approche de ces questions se fait souvent en collaboration avec d'autres disciplines comme la sociologie ou les sciences de l'environnement.
Dans une perspective plus large, nous étudions l'organisation des services de santé et la façon dont fonctionnent les cabinets de médecine générale. Dans ce cadre nous avons des projets de recherche en cours qui explorent de nouvelles façons de travailler et d'organiser les cabinets afin de mieux prendre en charge les patients et la population. Cela permet notamment d'explorer des aspects de durabilité du système de santé (financier, en ressources humaines ou de la pratique clinique). Nous étudions aussi la manière d'améliorer la prise en charge clinique des patients âgés, notamment en dépistant et en prenant mieux en charge les maladies liées à l'âge en médecine générale.

SPAM Program (Swiss Primary Health Care Active Monitoring), 2011
Long term program aiming at developing a monitoring tool centred on the quality and effectiveness of primary care. Financed by various grants: RRMA (Swiss Academia of Medical Sciences) for 2011, 20'000 CHF; Federal Office of Public Health (grant holder), 40'000CHF for 2012, 20'000 CHF for 2013, 96'000 CHF for 2014 and the Bangerter foundation (SAMS) through a peer-reviewed research grant of 100'000 (grant holder). This last grant supports a research project on prevention in family medicine (SPAM-Prevention)
