Introduction

The DEE is composed of a number of research groups dedicated to studying the function, diversity and evolution of organisms, populations and ecosystems. The principal research themes are:
  • mechanisms of genetic differentiation in populations
  • population genetics and gene flow
  • genetic, behavioural and theoretical studies of ants and other social animals
  • evolution of natural populations
  • molecular conservation biology
  • phylogeography and ecophysiology of small mammals
  • ecology and evolution of parasitism
